General Notes: Husband - Alexander G. Hopkins

He was held in very high esteem by his nieces and nephews. When Joseph Wright died in 1851, four of his children were under age, for them "Uncle Alex" filled the father's place tenderly and conscientiously, and to the older ones he was companion and friend. He was a man of keen mind, quick wit, and with a talent for story-telling rarely equalled; his conversation was a delight to those who grew up under his care.
