General Notes: Husband - Joseph A. Marshall

He was a native of Washington County, Pennsylvania, but spent the greater part of his life in Perry township, Lawrence County, where he was the owner of a fine farm, which he put under a high state of cultivation.
Politically, Mr. Marshall was first a Democrat, but being opposed to slavery, he became a Republican. He was elected to many township offices and was a member of the United Presbyterian church. He departed from this life in his sixty-seventh year.

He and his wife were the parents of twenty children; four died in infancy.
