General Notes: Husband - David Hough

He left the waters of Jacob's Creek in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and settled on Redstone Creek, Fayette County, in 1805, and claimed to be the first Hough family to settle in Fayette County.

He emigrated from eastern Pennsylvania at an early day, and located on a farm that was long occupied by his descendants. He was a tiller of the soil. He and his wife had twelve children.

He was born near Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland County. He removed in early life to the property which he purchased near Fayette City (then Cookstown), Fayette County. He was a miller by trade but gave a part of his time to farming. He owed and operated three flouring mills and a distillery besides managing several farms. He was a whig and a member of the Presbyterian church. [BHCWC, 645]
