General Notes: Husband - Charles Hoy

He came from the region of Little Swatara, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, about the year 1793, and settled on a tract of land south of Millheim. He and Daniel Kreamer came at the same time and located on adjoining farms. Before bringing their families, Hoy and Kreamer had been to the area to clear small patches and build huts.
He removed to Brush valley in 1802, coming in by way of the west end; and he and his brother George purchased a tract of four hundred acres from Andrew Apple and divided it among them equally.
