General Notes: Husband - John Sherman Runninger


At one time he almost became a big league baseball player. He was elected Sheriff of Venango County, Pennsylvania, about 1903. He and his wife lived at Maple Dale until they moved to Franklin about 1919. Both he and his wife were members of the Nicklin Methodist Church until they moved to Franklin and joined the First Presbyterian Church.
He was a partner in "Sanford and Runninger Grist and Feed Mill", and was commonly known as "Honest John".
