General Notes: Husband - John M. White


He obtained a common school education in the home neighborhood. When he reached his majority he began farming in Boggs township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, on his own account, following that calling for over a quarter of a century with continuous success. Business pursuits then occupied his attention. In 1901 he located at Mahoning, buying the "Mahoning Hotel," which he conducted. For some years he was postmaster at Mahoning, and he also served as registrar of births and deaths for Boggs, Pine and Madison townships. In 1887 he served as mercantile appraiser, a county office, and he held the office of school director continuously for over eighteen years, also filling other offices. On political questions he was associated with the Democratic party.
