He settled in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in 1797. [HCC 1885, 805]

He was born in Ireland, and emigrated to America in 1802. He settled in Woodcock township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, acquiring a tract of land of two hundred acres, and converted this into a fine farm. [GPHWP, 1546]

He and his second wife were cousins.
