General Notes: Husband - John Humes


He was a native of Ireland, and in his youth immigrated to America previous to the Revolutionary war. He settled at what is now Manor, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he tilled the soil and ran a distillery. During the war for Independence he served as a teamster under Washington, after which he returned to Manor, where he remained until his death.
