Samuel H. Lusher
Samuel Howard Lusher, 78, a well known resident of Tionesta and formerly of East Hickory for many years, died suddenly at 4 p. m., Saturday, Dec. 27, 1941 at his home in Tionesta, following a heart attack. He had been about his pool hall, of which he had been proprietor here for some time past, when he was suddenly stricken with a heart attack and passed away shortly after being removed to his residence above the hall.
Mr. Lusher was born at Clearfield, Pa., on May 22, 1863, the son of Philip and Sarah Smith Lusher. On July 5, 1892, he was united in marriage with Miss Florence Hunter at Tionesta. In his earlier years Mr. Lusher followed the drilling business and was one of the best known drilling contractors in this vicinity.
Besides his wife he is survived by two children, Forest, at home, and Mrs. May Butters, of Corry, and five grandchildren. Also surviving are the following sisters: Mrs. Harriet Beckett, of Youngstown, O.; Mrs. John Noble, of Erie; Mrs. Jack Payne and Mrs. Alice Noel, of Oil City.
Private funeral services in his memory were conducted at the Haslet funeral home in Tionesta, with Rev. Fred Morris pastor of the Tionesta Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was made in Mt. Collins cemetery, Tionesta.

Surprise Birthday Party For Mrs. S. H. Lusher
Mrs. S. H. Lusher was given an enjoyable birthday surprise party at her home Saturday evening when Mr. Lusher invited the members of her Sunday School class, the Mary Marthas, to their home for the evening. Games furnished the amusement for the evening and refreshments were served. Mrs. Lusher received a number of nice gifts as mementos of the occasion. All the guests reported a good time and wished Mrs. Lusher many more happy birthdays. Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Witherell, of Olean.

MRS. FLORENCE H. LUSHER
Mrs. Florence H. Lusher died at her home in Tionesta at 7 o'clock Saturday evening, Dec. 16, 1944, following a long illness.
Mrs. Lusher was born April 11, 1873, in Beaver Valley, Hickory Township, Forest County, a daughter of the late William and Ann Pettigrew Hunter. She was united in marriage with S. Howard Lusher, who died December 27, 1941. All of her lifetime was spent in Forest County and the later years in Tionesta. A wide circle of friends held her in high esteem. She was a member of the Tionesta Methodist Church and of the Mary-Martha Class of the Sunday School, being always a faithful attendant at services when her health permitted.
Surviving are two children, Forest Lusher, at home, and Mrs. Mae Butters, of Corry; a brother, Frank E. Hunter, of Kelso, Wash., and a sister, Mrs. F. A. Witherell, of Olean, N. Y.
The body was removed to the Haslet funeral home in Tionesta and funeral services in her memory were held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Methodist Church, with her pastor, the Rev. Fred Morris, officiating. Interment was made in Mt. Collins cemetery, Tionesta.
The pall bearers were B. K. McGinis, J. B. Hagerty, Ben Charleston, D. A. Childs, H. B. Dotterrer and Carl Luppino.
