General Notes: Husband - Ralph M. Webber

He got his education in the public schools of Franklin, Pennsylvania, or rather received there the elements which served for subsequent self-education. Leaving school he learned the trade of the machinist. At the opening of the World War he was adjudged not good for active service because of defective sight but he became a toolmaker and served the government as manager of a tool and gauge plant. Released from duty in 1919, he engaged as sales manager for the E. M. Bowen Company of Franklin, but in 1922 embarked on his own account in the garage business at Lima, Ohio. After three years of this experience he returned to Franklin and became sales manager for the Jeffrey Motor Sales Company, a relation that proved so congenial that in 1938 he formed a partnership with Mr. Jeffrey under the name Jeffrey-Webber, Ford dealers. The connection was been successful; the partners employed twelve to fifteen men. They dealt in both Ford and Mercury cars. He found his business exacting and aside from membership in the Chamber of Commerce was not associated or affiliated with organizations. He was Republican in politics, a Methodist in religion.
