General Notes: Husband - D. Milton Porter

Sandy Lake Twp, Mercer Co, PA

He was educated in the common schools and at Sandy Lake, PA. He also attended the New Lebanon Academy, and took private lessons under Rev. Rice. He began teaching at the age of seventeen years, and taught more than twelve terms, the last four at his home district. He later followed farming exclusively; he was the possessor of 110 acres of land which were originally owned by his grandfather and father.
