General Notes: Husband - Joseph Van Kirk


about the year 1802.

He was reared and educated in the vicinity of West Newton, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, remaining there until after his marriage, when he settled in Allegheny County, and for several years successfully conducted a hotel. Later he purchased a farm in Rostraver township, Westmoreland County, which he cultivated, and whereon he resided up to a few years prior to his death, when he located in Eliazbeth township, Allegheny County, where his death occurred at the advanced age of ninety years. He was a Whig and Republican in politics.
