Vernon Twp, Crawford Co, PA

He was born in Ireland, emigrated to America, and arrived at Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in August, 1819. For one or two years he was in the employ of Mr. Van Horne, then, having amassed a small capital by dint of thrift and industry, he purchased forty acres of the Van Horne tract and later another twenty-five acres. This land he improved and cultivated until his death.
