General Notes: Husband - George Ifft


He was born, reared and educated in Jackson township, Butler County, Pennsylvania. At the age of twenty-two he located on a rented farm, and subsequently entered the employ of Frazier & Metzgar, paper manufacturers of Pittsburgh, with whom he remained fifteen years. In 1875 he purchased a farm, erected buildings thereon, and otherwise improved it.
In politics, Mr. Ifft was a Dem­ocrat, filled the offices of supervisor and overseer of the poor for over a decade, and was one of the school directors of the township. For twenty years he was an elder in the Lutheran church.
