General Notes: Husband - John Price Wallace

He was educated in his native county, and early in life engaged in mercantile business there, making a specialty of dry goods. In 1837 he and his brother-in-law, Nathaniel Kinzer, came to Franklin County, and opened a general store in Green Village, which they operated for many years, but dissolved partnership some years before the Civil War. Mr. Wallace continued a successful merchant until within a few years prior to his death, when he turned the business over to his nephew, Thomas Wallace. He was postmaster for many years, and held the office at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, in the faith of which he died. Politically he was a Republican.
