He was educated at Case School of Applied Science, Cleveland, Ohio, and was a petroleum engineer. He was associated for many years with the Texas Oil Company, representing the company in Venezuela, Columbia, Argentina, Peru, and later was in Saudi-Arabia engaged in the construction of new refineries for the Arabian-American Oil Co., a subsidiary of the Texico Co.
