General Notes: Husband - William Irvin, Sr.

He was a native of Ireland, and came to America in the year 1789. Before settling in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, he was a resident of Penn's Valley, Centre County. The exact time of his coming to Clearfield cannot be definitely fixed. His first purchase of land (three hundred and thirty acres) was made on the 2d day of November, in the year 1811, and it is quite probable that he permanently located there soon after that purchase was made.

He and his wife had nine children.
Alexander was the third child and second son.
William, Jr., was the fourth child and the third son.
