General Notes: Husband - Alvertus Preston Marshall

He attended the Davis school until he was thirteen years old, when his father died, and then he gave all his time to helping his mother with the work of the farm. In 1893 he took charge of her property, operating 156 acres, and took care of her in her old age. Having devoted himself to farming, he became one of the most prosperous agriculturists of his township. He carried on general farming, stock raising and dairying, and his farm was one of the best cared for in this part of the county.
He was a Republican, and for six years served as tax collector, for seven years was auditor, for two years was supervisor, and for two years was clerk of the election board.
