General Notes: Husband - David Arthur Iseman

Reared in Washington, Pennsylvania, he supplemented the education he received in the local schools by attendance at the Berkshire School at Sheffield, Massachusetts, and was graduated from that institution in 1913. He then entered Princeton University and in 1917 was graduated (Litt. B.) from that institution. That was the spring in which this country took a hand in World War I and Mr. Iseman enlisted his services in behalf of the army, but on account of disability was presently discharged. In due course he got into the army under the selective service regulations and was given preliminary training at Camp Sherman, Chillicothe, Ohio, presently being given a commission as a second lieutenant and transferred to Camp Zachary Taylor (Kentucky), where he was assigned to the Fifth Field Artillery (Reserve) and was thus in service when the war came to an end and in 1919 he received his honorable discharge. Upon the completion of his military service he took a special course of postgraduate work in commercial forms at Harvard University, and in June, 1920, was graduated from that institution. He then became connected with the operations of the Leonard Oil & Gas Company of Washington, employed in that company's field in Ohio, and after awhile went to Kentucky, where he was engaged in prospecting in the oil fields in that state until 1922, when he returned to Washington, Pennsylvania, and engaged in business as an operator and producer on his own account, a line which he then followed with considerable success. Mr. Iseman also had other substantial interests in Washington and was the secretary and treasurer of the Washington Finance Company.
He and his wife were members of the First Presbyterian church and of the Washington Golf and Country Club and the Nemacolin Country Club, and Mrs. Iseman was a member of the local auxiliary to the American Legion and the Current Events Club. Mr. Iseman was a member of the American Legion and of the Bassett Club. He and Mrs. Iseman were republicans.
