General Notes: Husband - Joseph Jenkins

He learned the trade of a blacksmith. He removed to Chautauqua County, New York, with his brother Joshua, and later located in Russell, Warren County, Pennsylvania, where he worked at blacksmithing until 1836, and then purchased one hundred and fifty acres of uncleared land three miles west of that village, on what is now Jenkins Hill. During the last two years of his life he was totally blind, his affliction being caused by an injury.
