General Notes: Husband - David Johnson

Of Irish descent, his ancestral family included the distinguished Sir William Johnson, Superintendent-General of Indian Affairs in North America, under the British Crown. David Johnson left Philadelphia about 1788 for Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he became conspicuous in connection with the learned institutions of the period, and removing to Beaver in 1803, on the judicial organization of the county, became prominent as the first prothonotary, register and recorder, as a learned teacher and as one of the original elders of the Presbyterian church.
