In July, 1852, he and his wife immigrated to Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, remained there about two years, and then came to Butler County, locating in Buffalo township. In 1864 he purchased a farm in Centre township, on which he resided down to his death. He was a member of the United Presbyterian churches at Butler and Holyoke, and in pol­itics, he was a Republican.
