General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Johnston


He was a native of County Down, Ireland, and came to America about 1794. He settled in Jackson township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, where he purchased 150 acres of land, which he cleared and improved. He resided upon this farm until his death. He was an elder in the United Presbyterian church for many years, and was a stanch adherent of the Democratic party.
