General Notes: Husband - James Johnston

He and his brother Campbell came to western Pennsylvania at the solicitation of their brother Alexander, about the year 1816, and for a time carried on the Maria Forge. Then they came to Connellsville, Fayette County, and started two nail-shops, one at Meadow Alley and Spring Street, and the other on a private alley below the former. They continued business there until 1825, and then removed to Cincinnati, Ohio.
