General Notes: Husband - William P. Morgan

He was born on the old place in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, receiving his early education in the home schools. While yet a young man he began a mercantile career. He first opened a store at Morganza, Washington County, remaining there five years, then moved to Canonsburg, and conducted a very profitable business in the latter place, his custom increasing to large proportions. He was an active member of the Republican party. In religion he was prominently identified with the U. P. Church at Canonsburg, having served for years as a member of the Session, and also as Sunday-school superintendent.
