General Notes: Husband - John Jones

---

He was a Democrat, was interested in all local affairs, and held many elective offices of responsibility and trust, among them being justice of the peace, in which capacity he served for over ten years; director of the poor house; associate judge, 1860-65. He was captain of a company of State National Guards, but was not engaged in the Civil War, being ineligible on account of age.
