He attended Allegheny College at Meadville, Pennsylvania, after graduat-ing from the public schools of Chicora. He later became a student at the Medical Department of the Western University of Pennsylvania, where he was graduated June 8, 1908. He began the practice of his profession at Limestone, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, November 1st of the same year.

She was educated in the Slippery Rock State Normal School and the Irvin Academy for Young Ladies, at Mechanicsburg, PA.
