Blair's Corners, PA

He was born in Germany and came to the United States and to Clarion County, Pennsylvania, in 1842. He served in the Civil War in Com­pany G, Pennsylvania Volunteers, enlisting in 1865, and was discharged at the close of the war. He opened a store in Pittsburgh, where he was engaged in business for nearly five years. He was a farmer, and owned seventy-four acres, and was also in the mer­cantile business at Blair's. He was a merchant for over twenty-two years, and was postmaster for several years.
