General Notes: Husband - William Day Wilson

He was educated in Carrier Seminary at Clarion, now the Clarion State Normal School. When a young man he was taken into business with his brothers, who were extensive lumber manufacturers and shippers. He continued actively in that business until October, 1897, when he was appointed postmaster at Clarion. At the time of his appointment Clarion was a third class office, but in July 10, 1910, it was raised to an office of the second class, and free delivery was established.
Mr. Wilson was a most satisfactory official, won the approval of the postal authorities for his conduct of the office, and was able to secure Clarion many special privileges and benefits from the department. He was a member of the political party, one of the founders of which was his father, whose pride it was to have been seated in the convention that nominated Abraham Lincoln for president. In religious affiliations Mr. Wilson and his wife belonged to the Methodist Episcopal church.
