General Notes: Husband - Christian Keefer

He was brought to Franklin County, Pennsylvania, by his parents, and was a farmer and teamster in Letterkenny township.

He was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania, but moved to Franklin County when about twenty-one years of age. He and his brother, DeWalt, settled at Strasburg, which they named after the German city. He laid off the town, sold the lots, but followed farming himself. He also fought in the Revolution, having held some commission in the service. In 1811 he moved and with his brother, Abraham, bought 1,000 acres of land, and as their sons grew up it was divided into six farms, which were given to the sons.
