General Notes: Husband - Samuel G. Miller

He settled in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, in 1829, near the Salt Works, on the farm originally owned by William McFarland. He settled on his own homestead near Lewisville, in 1864. He was among the first abolitionists of the county, and was connected with the "underground railroad" movement in the interest of fugitive slaves. He was also an earnest advocate of temperance for nearly fifty years. He was a ruling elder in Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.
