He emigrated to America in the ship "Edinburgh," landing in New York, September 16, 1751, and located in the Pequea Valley, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, but soon after migrated to the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, where he married. On account of Indian troubles he returned to Pennsylvania, and settled at Ephrata, where he died.
