General Notes: Husband - James S. Ritchey

---

He was one of the pioneers of Richland township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, settling there in 1796. He was from Westmoreland County and located on the Clarion County side of Ritchey's run a mile and a half from its mouth.
He was a member of the Richland Rifle Company that went to defend Pennsylvania from invasion by the British, in the War of 1812.

He and his wife raised a family of thirteen children, five boys and eight girls, of whom five were living in 1879.
