General Notes: Husband - William Ketner

He was at one time a resident of Centre County, PA, and in 1837 removed to Venango County, where he passed the remainder of his days.

In a letter of August, 1934, Anna Deets Fleming said of him: "There are so many things I could tell you about Grandfather Ketner, whom I feel was a very remarkable man. He was musical and very religious. Grandmother Ketner could not understand the English language, so Grandfather learned to read the Bible in German under her instruction, so she could understand the reading at family worship. She died when only 52. I know she was a sweet, gentle woman like my mother."
Mention is made of him in the obituary of his daughter Julia Ann Ketner Deets. "Her father was a devout Christian, a splendid scholar for one of his age and day, and his children were brought up to fear God and serve Him faithfully. Her early home life and training was reflected throughout her entire life and her Christian fortitude was manifest throughout the many years."
At his death William Ketner was a member of the Evangelical Association of North America.
