General Notes: Husband - Harrison Lemely Askey


"Harrison Lemely Askey . . . of the Washington National Guards, of Mount Vernon, Washington, 1916, was called into service in the 161st Infantry. In France in 1917 he attended Officers Training School, was commissioned Second Lieutenant and assigned to the 37th Infantry Regular Army. Third Division. At St. Mihiel, October 23rd, 1918, he was wounded in action.

"The Athletic Field at the school (where he was principal before entering the military service) was named Askey Field in his honor."
