He was a Presbyterian clergyman and was pastor at Parnassus, Pennsylvania, Alliance, Ohio, and for thirty years or more of the Unity Church, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The degree of D. D. was conferred upon him by his alma mater, Washington and Jefferson College.
