General Notes: Husband - Charles R. Felgar

He received his education in the common schools and at the State Normal school in Indiana, Pennsylvania, where he took a general course. After completing his education he assisted his father on the farm, his services receiving a fixed rate of compensation. At the time of his marriage he engaged in farming for himself at Walnut Hill, where he remained two years. He then returned to the homestead and continued there until the death of his father. The same year he purchased the farm where he was born, consisting of one hundred and forty acres, thirty-five acres of which he subsequently sold, thus reducing the extent of his land to one hundred and five acres. He was a general farmer and dairyman and also engaged in stock-raising, making a specialty of horses. He belonged to the Democratic party. He and his family were members of the Reformed church.
