General Notes: Husband - Dr. Samuel Jay "Crummie" Krumbine

He changed the spelling of his surname from Krumbine to Crumbine. He became the pistol-toting doctor in lawless Dodge City, Kansas, and wrote a book entitled "Frontier Doctor." He was an important member of the Board of Health and coined the slogan "Swat the Fly." A schoolteacher, Frank H. Rose, had made a device out of a yardstick and a wire screen which he had called a "fly bat," but Dr. Crumbine said, "Let's call it a fly-swatter."
He raised his grandson, Warren J. Crumbine, after the death of the child's parents.
He lived into his nineties and probably died in Jackson Heights, New York, where he lived near his daughter after retiring from the medical profession.
