General Notes: Husband - John W. Kyler

He was reared amid the peaceful scenes of rural life, and always made his home in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, remaining under the parental roof until attaining his majority. For the following five years he was employed in farming and in the lumber woods. After his marriage he located on a farm near Woodland, which he sold in 1853, and removed to a place, which was situated in Boggs township, nine miles from Clearfield. This he cleared and cultivated, and placed thereon many valuable improvements.
He was an earnest supporter of the Democratic party, but never cared for office, though he filled some positions in his township. He was a man of medium size, of athletic build and pleasant address. Nature dealt kindly with him, and even after he passed the allotted three score years and ten, he was still well preserved, being able to lend a hand in the meadow with the scythe.
