Tyrone, Blair Co, PA - a mining engineer

He went into the Civil War at the age of seventeen, enlisting in the One Hundred and Twenty-fifth regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, in 1862, and participated in the principal battles, coming through unscathed. He was appointed by Governor Pattison to the Antietam battlefield commission in 1894.
