General Notes: Husband - Thomas Lamont


He was engaged in the sand business, and at the breaking out of the Civil War, on August 11, 1862, enlisted in Company D, Fourteenth Pennsylvania Cavalry Regiment, in which he served until May 28, 1865, receiving an honorable discharge. He took part in some forty engagements, was with Sheridan at Winchester, Virginia, and was wounded at Sulphur Springs. In 1874 he removed to Kansas, and later resided at Lawrence. He was always a Republican in politics. He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic.
