He graduated from the academic department of the Greensburg Seminary at Greensburg, Pennsylvania, 1899, and was for two years a student at the Western University of Pennsylvania, in Allegheny, where he took first prize in mechanical drawing. He was employed two summers in the draughting department of Westinghouse Electrical Company, at East Pittsburgh. His ambition lay in the direction of electrical engineering. In the fall of 1901 he entered the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, but in the autumn of 1902, in Boston, after a brief illness, he died.
