General Notes: Husband - William Smith Proudfit


He studied medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, but preferred pharmacy to the practice of his profession and established himself in the drug business in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, in 1860. For nearly thirty years he carried on this business in a building directly opposite the Presbyterian Church on Meadville St., occupying part of the building as a residence. In 1889 he removed with his family to Chicago, Illinois.
