General Notes: Husband - Bennett Libbey

He was a machinist, who moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, while a youth. He married and the couple lived at Pittsburgh for a number of years, then moved to Columbiana County, Ohio; five years later, the family returned to Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
He was a Presbyterian in religious opinion. In 1854 or 1856 he abandoned the Democratic and united with the Republican party.

He was a wood turner by trade and followed it all his life. At a very early day he settled in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, where he both farmed and worked at his trade. In his declining years he removed to Rochester, Pennsylvania, where he died. He was a member of the United Presbyterian church and much devoted to his family and home enjoyments. Politically he voted the Democratic ticket until the formation of the Republican party, and then espoused that party's cause. He cast a vote for General John C. Fremont for president, and was afterward much interested in local and national politics.
