He removed (from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania?) to Urbana, Ohio.

He was one of the survivors of the massacre at Crooked-Billet, now Hatboro', Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, May 1, 1778, where his captain, Charles Maclay, the elder, was killed.
