General Notes: Husband - George Van Eman

He was born in Holland, whence he emigrated to America, finally making a new home in Washington County, Pennsylvania, as one of the pioneers of North Strabane township, the place of his settlement being a farm near Clokeyville. He removed to Stark County, Ohio, in 1810.

He and his wife lived and raised their family on a farm known as "Clokey", six miles east of Washington, Pennsylvania. In their old age they removed to Canal Fulton, Stark County, Ohio, to live with their children; they died and are buried in an old churchyard about one mile from that place.

Different sources give different information about his children. He had only four sons, Joseph, George, William, and Nicholas. Elizabeth, his only daughter, was the wife of the Hon. Joseph Lawrence. [HWC 1882, 873]
