General Notes: Husband - John Logue

He was a native of County Donegal, Ireland, and at the age of thirteen was bound out to become a sailor. After a few trips to America, he became infatuated with the country, and in order to remain he deserted the crew. He located east of the mountains in Pennsylvania, and later on Bear creek in Butler County, his farm was later known as the Sheppard farm, very rich in oil.

When crossing the mountains to make a new home in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, they had three children, two of whom they placed in sacks with their heads out, and these sacks they hung across the back of a horse.

He emigrated to America in 1776, and was a soldier in the continental army during the Revolutionary War, enlisting June 18, 1777, in Captain John Ramsay's company of the first class of the Chester County, Pennsylvania, militia, and being mustered into service, July 11, 1777.
He was a farmer. [GPHNP, 957]
