General Notes: Husband - Paoli Sheppard Morrow

He was reared on a farm, and educated in common and select schools and Mt. Union College, Ohio. He taught thirteen consecutive terms in the common schools of Fayette and Westmoreland counties, Pennsylvania, and afterwards he engaged in the practice of the law. He read law with ex-Lieutenant Governor John Latta, of Greensburg, and Hon. Charles E. Boyle, of Uniontown; and after passing a rigid examination was admitted to the Fayette county bar, September 2, 1878. In 1879 he entered into partnership with D. M. Hertzog, and thereafter enjoyed a constantly growing and lucrative practice. The firm of Morrow & Hertzog was well known in Fayette County. He was also a member of the Westmoreland County bar, and of the supreme court of Pennsylvania.

Morrow & Hertzog, in addition to their other legal business, were engaged in the settlement of many estates, and acted as counsel for many trustees, guardians, executors and administrators. They owned as good a law library could be found in the county. Mr. Morrow made no pretensions to oratory, was a plain unassuming speaker, and a cautious and safe counselor. He knew his books well, studied his cases carefully, and was well informed on both the statutes and the decisions of the supreme court; a pleasant and sociable gentleman, a well-read lawyer, a close student.

He was secretary of the Historical Association of Fayette County, and was considered a man with a remarkable memory.
