General Notes: Husband - George S. Long

He was born in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania,, where he attended the public schools, afterwards graduating at Washington and Jefferson College. He then, in 1905, established his fire insurance agency at New Castle, also becoming associated with his father in real estate activities. He was a member of the board of directors of the Community Savings and Loan Company, and was treasurer of the Oak Park Cemetery Association. He was a Republican in politics, and supported the principles of that party by his vote and influence. He was a member of Troop F, National Guard, for nine years, and served as county clerk. Mr. Long's fraternal affiliations were with New Castle Lodge, No. 642, Free and Accepted Masons; with Valley of New Castle Consistory, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, thirty-second degree, also with New Castle Lodge, No. 69, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He was a member of the Lawrence Club, and the New Castle Field Club. His religious membership was with the First Presbyterian Church.
