General Notes: Husband - Johann Thomas Beck

Among the German immigrants who left their homes along the Rhine during the great migration of German Protestants to Pennsylvania in the 1700s was Johann Thomas Beck. He came from the Duchy of Hanau, and embarked from the port of Rotterdam, in Holland, in the year 1752, with his wife, and a son and a daughter. He did not live to see the New World, for he died on the voyage and the Atlantic became his burying place. His widow and children reached Philadelphia, from whence they went to Berks county, Penn., where they settled, and where the widow subsequently married one McMullen.
